We each have our favorite alphabet book, whether from childhood or, like mine, for more mature audiences. Illustrated alphabets have been around for so long, that one would think it most challenging to give them yet another inspired look. And then we find these morsels of wonder, creativity and craftmanship: today, I politely ask you to indulge me in feeding you some eye-candy, courtesy of British illustrator Marcus Reed.
After graduating from Newcastle College, Marcus honed his newly-acquired advertising skills at Saatchi & Saatchi’s in-house studio for four years, before turning freelance. Since then, he has worked on a number of projects in illustration and animation, including an animated series for MTV “Snickers identities”, and pre-production for the award-winning 30′ CBS Special “Yes Virginia.” He doesn’t only work in motion, though: Marcus has also contributed to publications worldwide, from London to Tokyo, and recently illustrated books by Jenny Eclair and Al Murray.
